Prambanan temple

Prambanan temple is located approximately 17 kilometers from Yogyakarta. Each person would have seen this temple because it is situated only 100 meters from the main road. Hindu Temple is 47 meters high was built by Sanjaya dynasty in the 9th century. This temple consists of 3 complex. The main temple is located inside the complex and surrounded by smaller temples called the chapel.

As a Hindu temple, the main temple has three shrines (shrine), dedicated to the Hindu trinity, Shiva, Whisnu, and Brahma. Every place of worship facing toward the altar smaller they ride. Nandi is the bull riding Shiva, the god of destruction, and bird mounts Garuda is Whisnu, creator god, and Goose is a mount of Brahma, the god of the guard.

Entering the main temple from the north, you'll see a statue of a very beautiful princess, Roro Jonggrang. Relief depicting imaginary figures carved around the foot of the Shiva temple which describe cosmic system. Entering the temple from the south and walk around the center of the main altar of the temple with your right hand (Circumambulating). someone will see the overall relief of the Ramayana story. The story ends on relief that ended in the barrier wall of the temple of Brahma. Kresnadwipayana that tell the story about the childhood of King Krishna, can be seen on temple walls Whisnu.
