Sambisari Temple

Located In dukuh Bendan Tirtomartani Kalasan Sleman, a Buddhist temple that was built around 8th century temple which is built terraced.
Temple, which has been recently renovated, is located about 12 km to the east of the city of Yogyakarta to the north of the main road between Yogyakarta and Solo. Sambisari is a very unique temple, this temple is located 6.5 meters below ground level. This temple was discovered in 1840. Since the eruption of Mount Merapi in the year 1006, the area around it covered with materials originating from volcanoes.
