Ngayogyakarta Palace, Beach Parang Kusumo in the South Seas, and also of Mount Merapi are in a straight line connected by Tugu Jogja in the middle.
Observations of satellite imagery is showing these locations, following the connecting road, situated almost in line and just missed a few degrees.
The existence of an imaginary line is justified by the former Professor of Philosophy University of Gadjah Mada University Professor Damarjati Supadjar. "Imaginary line was already a long discourse," said Damarjati to VIVAnews.com, Friday, October 20, 2010.
Mount Merapi is located on the border of Yogyakarta and Central Java, also as the north border of Yogyakarta. This is where it starts straight line. It lies to the south, there are Tugu Yogya.
The monument became a symbol of 'manunggaling Kawulo gusti' which also means the union between the king (golong) and people (gilig). This symbol can also be viewed in terms of the mystical union between the creator of universe (the Creator) and the creature (creation).
The next line leads to the palace and then straight to the south there Krapyak Stage. Gedhong Stage, so the building is now called, is a brick podium as high as 4 meters, width of 5 meters, and length of 6 meters. Reach 1 meter thick walls. Building on the south side of this palace became the southern boundary of the old city of Yogyakarta. Last point of the imaginary line that is Parang Kusumo Beach, in the South Seas with the myth of his Nyi Roro Kidul (Nyai Roro Kidul or Queen of the South Coast) As Merapi, at this point there is also a guard, namely RP Suraksotarwono.
For Damarjati, areas that are crossed by an imaginary straight line it was just 'coincidence' just terlintasi line. But the real meaning is the point at each end of the imaginary, Merapi and the South Seas.
Two locations that have particular significance for the palace which was built based on considerations of balance and harmony. Palace is the balance of fire and water. Fire is represented by the Mount Merapi, while the water is represented at the southernmost point, Parang Beach Kusumo. And the palace was in its midpoint. "Palace and the two regions it is a point of balance between vertical and horizontal," explained Damarjati.
Horizontal balance is symbolized by the South Sea which reflect man's relationship with humans. While the horizontal side of Mount Merapi symbolize that reflects the relationship between man and the Almighty.
Philosophy imaginary straight line from Merapi to the South Sea is full of local wisdom. Damarjati advised leaders in this country must be sensitive to the Merapi eruption events that killed the caretaker. According to him, the magma in the volcano Merapi, it should not be blocked to spew lava. Because of that congestion, and too late, it will result in tremendous explosion. "As if the popular vote gets clogged, there will be a social revolution."
